tekken

Delayed Rising Toe Kick, also known colloquially as a "Delayed Hopkick", is a move used by multiple characters within the Tekken series.

In Tekken and Tekken 2, only users who had the regular Rising Toe Kick in their moveset could perform the move, and only during a short hop (u/f). From Tekken 3, the move became a universal attack following a forward jump (U/F), dealing 25 damage, however the u/f variation could still only be performed by a select number of users.

Since Tekken 3, a universal non-launching variation also exists with the input being U/F, N, 4. This variation is mainly used in juggles due to its faster recovery.

Description

The user jumps before performing a right toe kick which launches the opponent on hit.

Despite Kuma II, Panda, and both Ogres having the regular Rising Toe Kick in their movesets, Kuma and Panda retained the Jack-style jumping kick from the first game while the Ogres instead had a Mishima-style jumping roundhouse. Kazuya, Devil, and Angel gained the u/f, N, 4 variation in Tekken Tag Tournament. Jin received the u/f, N, 4 variation in Tekken 5, however his devil counterpart retained the roundhouse.

In Tekken and Tekken 2, the user must delay the 4 input for a minimum of 10 frames after inputting u/f, however since Tekken 3 the delay following u/f can be as low as 2 frames. The U/F variation still requires a 10-frame delay.
