Inner Torment (感念瘴壁 Kannen Shōheki?) is a move used by Jinpachi Mishima since his debut in Tekken 5, Azazel in Tekken 6, and Unknown in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Ogre also gained a version of this move in Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Description
In Jinpachi, Azazel, and Unknown's version, the user slams the ground and uses their energy to stun the opponent. In Jinpachi and Azazel's case, they will light the opponent on fire while Unknown uses her powers instead. Ogre's animation is more similar to Ancient Power.
Usage
Notably, as a boss, Jinpachi's version did not need to be timed during an opponent's attack. Due to the long hit stun, the move left the opponent vulnerable to practically any attack. Despite its appearance, the move was not unblockable, and it is possible to crouch guard the attack, though the guard stun immediately left the player standing and able to block high attacks. It was also possible to guard this attack with d/f, although it still results in a guard rather than either being hit or performing a low parry. The playable Jinpachi had this nerfed to be timed during the opponent's attack as a just frame, but his more viable Dark Purification move was still maintained.
The playable Unknown's version of this move also has a large nerf, as her boss counterpart retains the long stun that Tekken 5 Jinpachi and Azazel shared.
