tekken

Wake-Up Cross Chop, formerly known as Rising Cross Chop, is a generic ground attack available to almost all characters since the first Tekken. In Tekken 4, the move is known as Forward Roll Cross Chop or Backward Roll Cross Chop depending on the movement.

In Tekken, the Wake-Up Cross Chop could also be performed regardless of the player's position when rolling. Starting in Tekken 2, the move required the player to be face up and their feet towards the opponent to perform the cross chop. The attack could also be performed from the generic back roll, but this was removed in Tekken 7.

In all games except Tekken 2, the forward roll variation could be used to launch a guarding opponent as the recovery was significantly faster than the opponent's guard stun, however its use is limited due to the slow rolling animation which can be interrupted at any time.
